Rylee :)

Today i had a little photo shoot with my 14 year old Vizsla, Rylee (male).  Because he is so old, i have been wanting to take some nice photos of him before he goes. So i put a nice leather leash on him and grabbed some food to get his attention and just started snapping away. ENJOY! :)

Some Photos from B-day Party...

Here's just a few photos, as I didn't spend much time taking photos at me and my little sister's b-day parties. My dad took most of the ones on my other blog at the party on, 'the Flying by life of a teen'. ( the rest on there were taken by moi :)

New photos coming soon!

Hey Everyone! I'll be posting some more photos as soon as i can! I haven't had much time to go and take some more photos and experiment lately, because I've been swamped with math homework, and hanging out with friends. I was going to go do a photo shoot soon, but I couldn't because i needed some downtime, as i haven't been getting enough sleep lately. BUT I promise I will have new photos by the end of the month :)

Older Drawings that I've done...

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post some drawings that I've done in the past couple of years or so. So are paintings in acrylics, water-based oils, or sketches. I'll dig out some of my water colours to put up soon as well. Enjoy!

I changed this portrait of my favorite pony Gizmo, if you look at the last picture i posted of it and this one, you should notice that i changed his cheek structure, and his muzzle and darkened the shadows.

A painting i promised to give my friend. haven't really gotten around to finishing it, but  its taken me a while.

An abstract painting that i kept adding layers. it originally was a self portrait of myself, but then i went over it a few times.

I call this one: sunset reflections. I was trying out a new style of painting.

These are two landscapes that i did a long time ago when i was being taught by Mrs. Doreen Fitzgibbons.

old drawing of a dragon.

The above and below are me experimenting with sketches, like eyes, a self portrait when i was little, mouths, birds, HORSES, etc. :P

Just sketching a horse out of a book i was reading.

Experimenting with the proportions of horses legs.
Most of the sketches were done last year when i was travelling and just fooling around in my spare time, and  the landscape painting was done a couple of years ago. its one of my favorites because it was the first painting i truly did alone, just with my favorite art teacher and, pretty much, my grandmother just giving me pointers to help me along the way.

Sunday 8 April 2012

Well, I have officially gotten a variety of 'Bugs'. The Photo Bug, Painting Bug, and the Blogging Bug. All i want to do now is just that. If i could right now i would go out and just walk and take a million photos. (except I'd need a new SD card :P ) .......
and i just totally dozed off and started watching TV and thinking about horses. That's another bug i seem to have caught a while back, but now its worse. Every time i take photos of my friend riding, i desperately feel like i should be joining her. See, I've always wanted my own horse, and my own farm, but my family could never afford a farm or ranch or barn unless we won the lotto. I do know how to ride, Western, and still learning. I volunteer at Rocky Ridge Ranch, Ontario. I usually ride a small pony named Gizmo, he is a sorrel colour, and and has an interesting attitude. He still needs to learns some things such as manners, and learning to listen to my instructions to him through the reins and my leg aids. But when he looks at your with those gigantic eyes of curiousness, I can't help but love him no matter how much he annoys me sometimes.

He is pretty much the perfect match for me, as i learn how to deal with situations through him, and with help, we learn new things together. I love him so much, and i wish i could buy him, but i can't. I've asked a billion times, but even though i can't have him, i'm the only one who rides him in the summer.

I'm  going to be having a small gathering with 5 of my friends, and we r going to go riding at the Ranch. And of course I'll ride Gizmo ! :D I'm so excited i just had to share that with all you.

I think I might like this...

Well I think i am actually getting the hang of blogging. It's probably better for people than facebook. Anyhow Here are some pictures of some of my paintings.

Just me fiddling around with sketching horses.

'Swim"
Used to be a painting of a sculpture, was supposed to paint a plain purple background, but thought this was a better idea.

"Aura" Used to have an eye, but it creeped me out at night when i slept so i removed it. Now all my paintings have to go through the 'Creepy' test :P.

'Skittles' This is an older painting from a couple of years ago.

"Thirsty" - This has to be one of my more well known pieces. I was bored one afternoon, and I was reading horse magazines, and I came across a horse drinking and looking towards the reader.

A drawing that I drew in Grade 6, and I won first against my best friend :)
Well, after watching my friend do a riding lesson, and painting two paintings of horses, I really feel like I want to go to a horse show and just click away on my camera. I painted the to horse paintings in acrylic. One is of a horse rearing, and another is a portrait of my favorite pony, at the Ranch I work at, Gizmo. The one of Gizmo still needs work though , and I understand that. I'll need to figure out a way for his eye not to stand out as much, and to make his mane look a lot better.

Here are the two paintings:

I am planning on painting a bit more now that I got a portable art easel for my birthday. It's finding the time after school work and cleaning the house/my room that I have problems with.

This is my version of a horse rearing. I wanted to highlight the strong muscles and bones and the graceful waves of the mane.

This is the Portrait of the Pony Gizmo. Still work on his muzzle as i screwed it up, and also around his eye.

Horse Photography April 2012

Well, today I learned that dust and camera's do not like to work together, as my lens were getting covered in dust from the riding ring that my friend was riding in. Also because I forgot to bring a lens cleaner (whoops). From now on I will make sure I bring a lens cleaner along! It was a beautiful day today, cold in the wind but lovely in the spring sun. The riders in the ring were doing a jumper lesson, instead of ground work today. So I tried to find the best spot for taking pictures but the dust was deciding to blow EVERYWHERE once there was more than 3 horses cantering in the ring. I tried getting some shots where the subject was in that 'state' where I am unnoticed and I get those amazing shots. I was able to get what I think was a pretty good shot. I showed my parents and they loved it, and it also got good reviews on my Facebook. Here is some of the pictures that I think are worthy of the internet. Feel free to comment and tell me which ones you like best!
